Bono- Mr. Lawrence (Jack) Meurer, passed away on , November 11, 2024, at the age of 94 , at his home.
He was born October 06, 1930 , the son of Wilson and Vergie Barnes Meurer, in Jonesboro.
Jack was a retired US Army veteran master sergent ,serving from 1949 to 1969. He served in Arkansas, Japan, Illinois, Missouri, Alaska, Oklahoma. Korea, Colorado and Germany. He also did carpentry and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Veta Douglas Meurer, three sons, Walter, Phillip and Paul Meurer, his parents, 14 siblings and step siblings.
He is survived by one son, Roger Meurer, eight grandchildren, Charity (Richter) Malott, Jennifer Bowman, Sara Welch, Douglas Meurer, Julie Meurer, Daniel Meurer , Rodney Meurer and April Meurer. Nine great grandchildren, Monica and Mikinzie Tate, Raegan and Olivia Bowman, Hayes, Silas and Sadie Meurer, Lincoln and Cydney Welch. Two great great grandchildren, Amara and Nadya Tate. Four step siblings, Ruby Mears, Zeda Peek, Danny Cagle and Marvin Cagle.
Pallbeares will be graveside at Trinity Cemetery on Friday, Nov. 22,2024 at 1:00 p.m. Chaplain and eulogy by Roger Meurer. With Military Honors by the US Army.
A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held at Trinity Cemetery near Bono on Friday, Nov. 22, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. with a eulogy given by his son, Roger Meurer. Burial with military honors will be given by US Army.
Services have been entrusted to Gregg-Langford- Bookout Funeral Home.
