Lavon "Buck" Carter, 84, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away on October 14, 2025, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.
He was born June 14, 1941, in Pocahontas to the late Tom and Beulah (Tinker) Carter. Buck enjoyed hunting, farming, and spending time outdoors. He was known for his love of good food and a cold Pepsi, and he will be remembered for his warmth and devotion to family.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy Hayes; brother, Charles "Dub" Carter; and nephew, Rick Carter.
Survivors include his wife, Pasha Carter of Pocahontas; son, David Carter; daughter, Trish McKeel; stepson, Daniel (Tammy) Suenkel of West Virginia; stepdaughter, Tracey (Wayne) Reece of Brookland; brother, Jerry "Wayne" Carter; sisters, Shirley Higgins and Mary Sue Baskins; nephew, Bruce Carter; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held 12:00 – 2:00 pm Friday, October 17, 2025, with the funeral service to begin at 2:00 pm with Terry Miller officiating. All services will be held at First Assembly of God Church. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Gardens.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
