Caraway- Lavern Ladd, 93, passed away Monday, January 15, 2018 at Lakeside Nursing and Rehab Center in Lake City.

She was born January 2, 1925 in Monette to the late Alfred and Bertha Gauf. Lavern was a member of Rowe's Chapel Baptist Church of Caraway. She was an accomplished seamstress but her love was dancing. She worked on the family farm and later retired from the dress factory in Caraway.

She was also preceded in death by three husbands, J. R. Schmitt Jr., C. H. Huckabee and James Ladd; two sons-in-law; a step daughter and her siblings.

She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Mancuso (Dale) of Louisiana, Kathleen Miller of Florida, Glenda McConkey of Tennessee and Barbara Philhours (Jim) of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Ron McConkey of Illinois, Warren McConkey of Tennessee, Tami Philhours and Amber Baldridge of Jonesboro, Christopher Stancliff of Louisiana, Trevor Stancliff of Florida, Rachael Ward of Florida and Dakota Sutcliffe of Louisiana; eleven great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Topper Killough officiating. Interment will follow at Monette Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
