Larry
Mason
Nov 16, 1955 — Sep 24, 2026
Mr. Larry Wayne Mason, of Jonesboro, departed this life on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at his home with family by his side.
He was born November 16, 1955 in Wynne to the late Archie Mason and Junnie Aston Mason. He lived a full life of love for his family and for his Lord.
Larry was a graduate of Wynne High School, class of 1974. He had a variety of occupations including construction, railroad work for Tweety Contractors, as well as flooring. Larry worked over 23 years doing flooring and eventually had his own business called Mason Flooring. His specialty was tile work. He was always making suggestions on how to make your home look better with a backsplash, new shower or bath, or new flooring. He had a passion for his work and wanted it to be perfect. As his health started to fail he helped his son, Justin Douglas, with his business, Douglas and Son.
Larry enjoyed attending First Assembly of God Church in Harrisburg with his family, reading his Bible, singing, and listening to worship songs. Larry also enjoyed playing golf with his son, Hunter, watching wrestling, playing games on his tablet, and watching his grandson, Jace, play football. Family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with all of them. Larry made many friends over the years and kept in contact with them as much as he could.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one grandson, Skylar Ethan, three sisters, Caroline Burries, Sudie Walker, and Patricia Mason; as well as two brothers, James Mason and Oscan Mason.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 23 years, Suzie Mason of the home, one daughter, Breanna (Ryan) Mounce of Jonesboro; two sons, Justin (Lindsey) Douglas of Harrisburg and Dakota Hunter Mason of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Addy Douglas, Jace Douglas, Conner Mounce, and Charliegh Mounce; and one sister, Margaret Baker, as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026 at 2 pm at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Scotty Simone officiating. Visitation will precede the service starting at 1 pm.
