Mr. Larry Dale Johnson of Harrisburg departed this life Saturday, October 29, 2016, at the St. Bernard's regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, at the age of 65.
He was born April 21, 1951 in Manila, Arkansas, the son of the late Elmer Lee Johnson and Vergie Noble Johnson.
Larry operated service stations with his father for many years and then worked in maintenance at St. Bernard's for many years. He operated a bail bondsman service for a while and in the past several years has worked for Donnie Pippinger. He loved music and sports and was an avid Cubs and Razorback fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Raginna Johnson, a son, Joseph Johnson and a former wife, Jane Johnson.
He is survived by a daughter, Melissa Johnson of Eau Claire, MI, a son, Johnathon Johnson of Benton Harbor, MI, a daughter, Stacy Robertson of Harrisburg, three sons, Jaxon Johnson of Trumann, Joshua Holt of Trumann and Dewayne Brunson of Jonesboro and their mother, Kimberly Johnson of Trumann, a sister, Sharon Loggains (Grover) of Stevensville, MI, a brother, Jerry Johnson (Joyce) of Lexington, KY, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services are set for 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg, with Rev. Harles Banks officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Springs Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Tuesday evening, 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Zachary Johnson, David Raines, Ken Rabe, Grover Loggains, Mark Webb, Greg Armstrong and Pete Armstrong. Honorary pallbearers are Donnie Pippinger, Teresa Pippinger, Wayne Fitzgerald, Matt Bishop, Donald Holt and members of the Holly Springs Jesus Name Church.
