Obituary

Jonesboro - Mr. Larry Joe Hayse, 70, departed this life Thursday, October 10, 2019, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

He was born September 21, 1949 in Lake Providence, LA, the son of the late Henry Olen Hayse and Mildred Lee Williams Hayse.

Larry retired from Mid South Health Systems, where he was a safety and health coordinator. He was also a former employee of Dana Corp, Dupont, GE and City Water and Light. He loved to hunt and fish and his friends said he never met a stranger. After retirement, he loved to hang out at McDonalds and spend time with family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Forest Hayse and Gary Hayse and one sister, Doris Hayse Whitley.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Carla Hayse; one daughter, Anna Hayse Guthrie (Tommy); two sons, Marcus Hayse (Misty), and Jody Hayse; two step children, Kevin Hall (Annette) and Kim Owens, all of Jonesboro; six grandchildren, Ashtyn Burdin (Brandon), Devin Guthrie, Whitnee Guthrie, Jaclyn Hayse, Kelsey Copeland (Brett) and Tanner Owens; two great grandchildren, Harlie Burdin and Hadley Copeland, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services have been set for 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2019, at the Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Barnett officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Log Cemetery at Brookland.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday, 12:30 p.m. till services.

Pallbearers will be Joe Pierce, Brandon Burdin, Brett Copeland, David Atkison, Devin Guthrie, and Jeremy Hayse. Tanner Owens will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

Memorials may be made to the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro or to charity of choice.
