Mr. Larry Harrison of Jonesboro, Arkansas, formerly of Harrisburg, departed this life Friday, August 17, 2018, at the VA Medical Center in Memphis, at the age of 72.
He was born September 21, 1945 in Lake City, Arkansas, the son of the late John Harrison and Fannie Byrd Harrison.
Larry was a 1964 graduate of Harrisburg High School. Following High School he joined the U.S. Navy and served his country in Vietnam. Following his service in the Navy, Larry began an automotive sales career in Memphis and Jonesboro. He was a huge sports fan and a member of the Valley View Church of Christ in Jonesboro. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherri Woolbright, two brothers, David Harrison and Billy Harrison, and two sisters, Gelinda Evans and Ida Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Harrison of the home, six children, Burt Harrison (Kristi) of Bono, Rebecca Harrison of Tulsa, OK, Lauren Baldridge (Corey) of Jonesboro, Ashleigh Harrison of Weiner, Lori Woolbright of Jonesboro and Jason Faulkner of Harrisburg, three brothers, Wendell Harrison of Cocoa Beach, FL, Ben Harrison of Cocoa Beach, FL and Jimmy Harrison of Cherokee Village, AR, twenty two Grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 1, 2018, at 6:00 p.m., at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg, with Mr. Joe May officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home prior to services, 4:00-6:00 p.m.
