Obituary

Jonesboro- Lacy Allen Dillin, 96, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at his residence. He was born April 2, 1918 in Alicia to late Alvie and Pearl Dillin. He retired from General Electric. He was a member of Nettleton Church of Christ for over 50 years. He loved to play guitar and write songs and poetry. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his eight children, Della French (John) of Jonesboro, Freda Martin, Alice Vincent (Harvey) all of Trumann, George Dillin (Donna) of Jonesboro, Jane Metheny (Dan) of Trumann, Doug Dillin and Leon Dillin both of Jonesboro and Tammy Tsui (Tony) of Trumann; three sisters-in-law, Alice Berry of New Albany, Indiana, Pearline Dillin of Holland, Michigan and Gussie Dillin of Jasper, Texas; thirteen grandchildren, Barry French, Kelly Algee, Russ Martin, Angela Vincent, Greg Vincent, Leah George, Crystal Harrah, Steven Metheny, Tara Metheny, Valerie Kerley, Cliffton Dillin, Lisa Jackson and Douglas Tsui; thirteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends; and anticipating the arrival of his first great-great-granddaughter. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virgie L. Dillin; two sons, Clifton Dillin and Floyd Dillin; five brothers, Walter Dillin, Hubert Dillin, Leo Dillin, A. J. Dillin and J. T. Dillin; three sisters, Mabel King, Ruby Dillin and Mildred Keifer. A celebration of his life will be 2:00 pm Friday, November 7, 2014 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Joe May and Danny Metheny officiating. Burial to follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday and from 1:00 until time of service Friday at the funeral home. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Barry French, Greg Vincent, Russ Martin, Jordan Hudson, Dillin Vincent, Derek George, Steven Metheny, Doug Tsui and Kyle Vincent and as honorary pallbearers the Elders and Deacons of Nettleton Church of Christ and Jimmy Young. Lasting memorials may be sent to the Paragould Children's Home.
