Pocahontas- Kern Burrow passed away on October 16, 2017 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.
Kern was born July 30, 1917 in Warm Springs, AR to Jesse and Scyble Parrish Burrow. He recently celebrated his 100th birthday in his Pocahontas home, surrounded by family and friends. Mr. Burrow lived in Randolph County his entire life, residing in the Sutton community for more than 50 years. Kern and his wife had a dairy farm and operated mercantile stores in Pocahontas and Birdell. Mr. Burrow also worked for Ransom Construction.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of almost 64 years, Mary Nell Cremeens; grandson, Christopher Burrow; sisters, Fern Henderson, Violet Benson; and special Uncle, Alvin "Jerry" Burrow.
He is survived by sons, Clark Burrow, Larry K (Phyllis) Burrow; grandchildren, Julia Ann (John) Reilman, James Aaron (JoDee) Burrow, Dr. Andrew Burrow; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Ann Halpenny; brother, E. J. (Marilyn) Burrow; along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 1-2 pm at McNabb Funeral Home Chapel in Pocahontas with a funeral service immediately following at 2 pm with Kevin Barnett officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor may be made to Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, Jonesboro, AR, Arkansas Children's Hospital, St. Judes Children's Hospital, or your favorite church or charity.
Pallbearers: Aaron Burrow, grandson; Clark M. Burrow, Ethan Burrow, Joshua Andrew Brooks, great grandsons; John Reilman, grandson-in-law; Alex Reilman, Adam Reilman, and Austin Reilman, great grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers: Dr. Andrew Burrow, grandson, Paul Sheets, friend of family, and Gerald Powell, cousin.
