Obituary

Kenneth Lee Hemphill, 67, of Jonesboro, passed away December 8, 2014 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born November 7, 1947 to the late Herman and Edna Greenway Hemphill in Monett, MO. Ken was a store manager for forty years with Hoffman Supply DBA Johnstone Supply. During that time his customers became his friends. He attended school at public school in Monett and attended college in Texas. He attended church at Central Baptist and Temple Baptist in Jonesboro. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Charlotte Hemphill of the home, daughter, Shelley Hemphill Barron and husband Darrell of West Fork; a son, Matthew Lee Hemphill and wife Angie of Jonesboro; stepson, John Paul Fairhead and wife Libi Jones Fairhead of Jonesboro; step daughters, Margaret Fairhead Hall and husband, Heath of Hot Springs, Meredith Fairhead Blas and husband Rev. John David of Monument, CO; brother, Harley Dean Hemphill and wife Mary of Springfield; sisters, Edith Irene Hemphill Mayfield of Springfield and Carolyn Sue Hemphill Haynes and husband Wesley of Wheaton, MO; twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren as well as eight nieces and nephews all of Missouri. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Everett Eugene Hemphill. Lasting Memorials may be made to The Pregnancy Resource Center 901 S. Main St. Jonesboro AR 72401 "If my life can save a baby it will have been worth it" Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Greg Slayton, Wesley Haynes, Perry Osborn, Michael Barron and Eugene Merrill, Honorary pallbearers will be the employees and customers of Johnstone Supply and John Bunselmeyer, Karl Bunselmeyer, Karen Garwitz and Terry Nichols. Mass of Christian burial will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Jonesboro with Father Jack Vu officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 at Gregg Langford-Bookout Funeral Home, 300 W. Matthews Ave, Jonesboro 870-935-5566.
