Kenneth "Sonny" Mathews, 80, of Pocahontas departed this life on November 15, 2023, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Sonny was born February 4, 1943, to the late Frank Mathews and Lucille Reed Mathews in Pocahontas. He was a retired truck driver and enjoyed driving. He also enjoyed watching the news, talking about politics, and meeting his buddies at McDonalds.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lucille Reed Mathews; daughter Sonja Thielemier; brother, Warren Mathews; father and mother-in-law, Gene and Vera Thompson.

Sonny is survived by his wife Beatrice Mathews of the home; grandchildren, Mat and Shauna Anderson, Dillon and Aley Cagle, Trevor and Michaela Anderson and Jeff and Valerie Thielemier and Darrin Thielemier; son-in-law, Scott Thielemier; sister, Ginger Swindle; many great grandchildren and many other family and friends.

Visitation will be held 5:00 – 6:00 P.M. Friday, November 17, 2023, in the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel with a funeral service to begin at 6:00 P.M. with Gene Collum officiating.
