Mrs. Julia Anderson of Caraway, departed this life Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at the Lakeside Nursing Home in Lake City, at the age of 94. She was born June 15, 1919 in Caraway, the daughter of Thomas Melvin Mangrum and Arleta P. Tullos Mangrum. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Caraway and taught Sunday School there many years. She worked for several years for American Greetings and also worked 14 years at the Nursing Home in Caraway. She loved to garden and cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Raymond Anderson, a daughter, Lena Mae Anderson, a son, David Anderson, a sister, Zula Duke, two brothers, Edward Mangrum and Clarence Mangrum, and two grandsons, Terry Anderson and Brian Anderson. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Hare of Jonesboro, and three sons, Eldon Anderson (Patsy) of Lake City, Gerald Anderson (Connie) of Caraway and Lonnie Anderson (Susie) of Caraway, 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Rev. Rick Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Nettleton Cemetery at Jonesboro. Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday, noon till service time. Pallbearers will be Mark Douglas, Greg Douglas, Donnie Terrell, Lenny Clark, Steven Sanders, and Tommy Wilbanks.
