MAYNARD-Juanita M. Kerley, 83, a lifetime resident of Maynard, passed away Saturday, January 19th at Five Rivers Medical Center. She was born April 8, 1924 in Maynard to the late Andrew Baxter and Frankie Birchett Kerley. Four brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death. She was a member of Witt's Chapel Baptist Church where she was actively involved for many years. She enjoyed volunteering her time, and was also actively involved in the Maynard Alumni Association, Pocahontas Library and the Pioneer Museum. She received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Arkansas State Teachers College and Williams Baptist College and taught in the Maynard area for forty-two years. Survivors include several nieces and nephews and many good friends. Services will be held at 10am Wednesday at Witt's Chapel Baptist Church in Maynard with Rev. Charles Kerley and Rev. Bob McManus officiating. Burial will follow in Maynard Cemetery. Don Dalton, Gary Hagood, Vernon Weatherford, Paul Dismang, David Shaffer, Bill Marlett, Kenny Marlett and James Marlett will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be 5-8 Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. She was loved by her family and friends and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
