Trumann- Joyce Spencer Royal, 90, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024 in Springfield, Missouri.
She was born September 16, 1933 in Greenfield to the late Richard and Gladys Balcom Spencer. She and Talmadge were Explorer Scout leaders for many years. She also volunteered at the Methodist Hospital. She had been the owner and operator of the Brass Unicorn in Jonesboro for several years and had worked at Arkla Gas and International Harvester Equipment. Mrs. Joyce was a member of the First Baptist Church in Trumann where she taught Sunday School for many years.
She is survived by her children, Alan Scot Royal (Nancy) of Kansas City, Missouri, Suzanne Rhea (Terry) of Mountain Home and Yvonne Lamberth (Lee) of Clarkridge; grandchildren, Jennifer Beal of Smithville, MO, Andrea Bertschy of Bentonville, Rachel Gillespie of Paragould, Amber Dowell of Fayetteville, T.J. Rhea of Hendersonville, TN, Amy Hodges and Jeffrey Rhea both of Southaven, MS.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge Royal; brother, Jerald Spencer; granddaughter, Michelle Royal and great-grandson, Tyler Rhea.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Trumann with Rev. John Maley officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
Lasting memorials may be given to any Children's Home or Food Bank.
