Joyce Ann Burks, 66, born on May 23, 1958, passed away on April 29, 2025. She was the daughter of Melvard Leon and Marjorie Lucille Thompson Dooley. Joyce dedicated her life to nurturing and caring for others. Joyce loved her family, children and grandchildren beyond measure. Family came first to Joyce and made the best of Life despite her chronic health issues. Joyce enjoyed working with children; Joyce ran a daycare out of her home and as a teacher's aide at the local Elementary school in Salisbury, MO. Joyce worked at a local factory and as a waitress where she met her belated husband, John Burks.

Joyce was a member of First Baptist Church in Salisbury, MO.

Joyce is survived by her two daughters; Becky (Ted) Cole of Jonesboro and Shelly Burks of Moberly, MO; extended daughter, Chelsie Lynn Henke of Salisbury, MO; two sisters, Janet Wells of Fayette, MO and Jody Curren of Wichita Falls, TX; her mother, Marge Dooley of Salisbury, MO; along with her four grandchildren, Gage Berry, Kyran Burks, Kinley Burks, and Murphy Cole.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John M. Burks, and her father, Melvard Leon Dooley.

Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Salisbury, MO with visitation at 10am On Saturday May 10, 2025. Funeral service following at 11am. Burial at Prairie Hill Cemetery in Prairie Hill, MO
