Joyce Ann Sharp Rouse Hogan

Joyce Ann Sharp Rouse Hogan was born on a Saturday afternoon July 8, 1939 to Linnie Pearl Shepard and Joe Sidney Sharp in Enville, Tenn. and went to be at peace on a Saturday morning July 25, 2026 in Trumann, Ark.

Joyce led an adventurous full life. As a young child she and her siblings ran the hollows of Tennessee and eventually Arkansas. As a young mother, she moved to Trumann and worked at the Singer Plant. In 1982 she married Gary Hogan and they traveled all over the US through their job as over the road truckers. During their travels Joyce collected rocks and plants from roadsides all over the US. She also sewed many quilts while over the road. In Wynne, she owned and operated Joyce Ann-tiques for 10 years. She was the family record keeper and created many scrapbooks detailing her family history. Following retirement they returned to Trumann where Joyce spent her time on her many sewing projects, working in her flower beds, and spending time with her growing family. She was known for her bold spirit and crooked smile. She was baptized into the Methodist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents James and America Sharp and Jepsey and Selena Shepard, her two brothers, Leon Sharp and Billy Joe Sharp, and three sisters, Maurine Bethune, Lena Mae Martin, and Virginia Champion, and her cherished son, Matthew Rouse.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Gary Hogan, her two daughters Cheryl (John) Roberts of Trumann and Sondra Tolliver of Amarillo, Tex., seven grandchildren, Carin (James) McClung and Mallory (Jason) Wilson both of Trumann, Roclyn Tolliver, Blade (Angelita) Tolliver, and Annie Tolliver, all of Amarillo, Tex., Ben (Tosha) Rouse and Lydia Rouse, both of Jonesboro, her great-grandchildren, Leah McClung, Campbell McClung, Wrenlee Wilson, Chloe Wilson, and Charli Wilson, all of Trumann, Ramzy Lopez, Remmi Tolliver, Rummy Mast, Romni Mast, and Ronnie Tolliver, all of Amarillo, Tex., and Kason and Grayson Rouse of Jonesboro, and one great-great-granddaughter, Elizabeth McClung of Trumann and one sister, Imogene Williams of Round Rock, Tex.

Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg with Pastor Pam Lamb-Criswell officiating. Interment will follow in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at Birdeye. Friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday evening, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers are Campbell McClung, Jason Wilson, Randy Taylor, Ben Rouse, Kason Rouse, Derik Turnbow, Eric Turnbow. Honorary pallbearers are John Roberts, James McClung, and Ramzy Lopez.
