Johnny (Leonard) Maple, 78, of Pocahontas departed this life on Thursday June 13, 2024, at his home.

He was born on February 23, 1946, to the late L.W. (Buster) Maple and Lida McCarty Maple in Fontaine. Leonard attended Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.  He was loved and will be missed by all that knew him. He was a loving husband, father, Pa and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Buster and Lida Maple; son, Johnny Leonard Maple Jr.; siblings, Glen Maple, Joanne Miller, Dottie Gossett, Donald Maple, Bob Maple, and Alvin Maple.

Leonard is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Maple of Pocahontas; sons, Glen Dewayne Maple and Brian (Fly) Thacker Maple of Pocahontas; daughters, Tammy (Todd) Smith of Peach Orchard, Shirley (Phillip) Allen of Walnut Ridge, Jana (Chad) Baker of Newport and Dana (Harold) Robinson of Pocahontas; sister, Peggy Whitlow of Walnut Ridge; fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 PM Monday, June 17, 2024, with the funeral service to begin at 2:00 PM with Matthew Donner officiating. All services will be in the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. A burial will follow in the Randolph Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Easton Householder, Aaden Householder, Greg Lance II, Curtis Seamans, Caleb Maple, and Nick Frailey.

Honorary pallbearers are Rick Rorex, Gary Bookout, Dickie Farmer, Sonny Ford, Brad French, Joe Reel, Brian Reel, Mack Watson, Greg Lance, Ryan Carter, and Jeff Mahaffey.
