Johnnie Ruth Shelton, 87, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2007 in Jonesboro. Born in Jackson County, she lived most of her life in Jonesboro. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorse and Effie Weatherford; her husband, J.S. Shelton in 1997; her son, J.D. Shelton in 1968; and her son-in-law, Floyd E. Simpson Sr. in 2001.
