John Algie Wilson, 86, of Pocahontas, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020 at St Vincent Hospital in Little Rock.
He was born November 24, 1934 in Pocahontas to Algie and Mary Magdalena Kieter Wilson.
John was an Assistant Scout Master. He bought an F-85 Station Wagon to transport the scouts to outings. John was a 4th degree Knight. He served in the 4th Armor at Fort Hood, Texas, spent 2 years in Germany, and several years in the reserves.
John was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, William Wilson; and brother-in-law, Vitus Thielemier.
He is survived by brother, William (Alta) Wilson of St. Louis; sister, Mildred Thielemier of Pocahontas; nephew, John Allen Wilson of Florida; and great nephew, Brad Wilson of Louisiana.
Visitation will be in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home, Tuesday, December 1, 2020, 5-7 P.M. followed by Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul's Catholic Church with Father Stephen Elser officiating, followed by a burial at St. Paul's Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Nick Declerk, Joe Bergman, John Nichols, Arthur Loyd, Rick Broadway, and Geary Thielemier.
Serving as honorary pallbearer is Alex Baltz.
