Jonesboro- John "J. W." "Pete" Walker Jr, 81, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was born August 25, 1934 in Paris, Texas to the late John William and Mary Viola Tate Walker. He served his country proudly in the United States Army. He retired in 1999 after 27 years with Arkansas Glass Container. He enjoyed gardening. He is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Ruth Walker; a daughter, Mesha Hadl of Bono; two sisters, Faye Townsand of Jonesboro and Myrlena Gill of St. Charles, Illinois; two grandsons, Zach Lesley and Josh Lesley both of Bono and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a son Wayne "Pud" Walker. A celebration of his life will be 2:00 pm Monday, September 14, 2015 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Southard officiating. Burial to follow at Macedonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home. Honored to serve as pallbearers are John Townsand, J. W. Doyle, Dennis Hattenhauer, Jackie Fortenberry, Don Fortenberry and Stanley Fortenberry and as honorary pallbearers, Mansel Doyle Jr, W. C.
