Harrisburg- John William "J. W." Gussberry, 91, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022.

He was born March 28, 1931 in Weiner to the late Fred and Cara Holland Gussberry.  J. W. served his country proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean War, 1950-1954 on a ballistics ship. He worked at General Motors in Flint, Michigan for thirty years. He was also a scuba diver for Genesee County Sherriff Department. He loved to hunt, fish and travel.

He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Gussberry of Harrisburg; a sister, Katheryn Hopper (Charles) of Pope, Mississippi and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by wife, Betty Gussberry; son, John Charles Gussberry; a sister, Louise Boyer and a brother, Wayne Gussberry.

A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2022 at Arkansas State Veteran Cemetery- Birdeye. Arrangements were entrusted to Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
