Mr. John Michael Denton of Harrisburg departed this life Monday, July 29, 2019, in Jonesboro, at the age of 72.

He was born June 11, 1947 in Harrisburg, the son of the late Richard H. Denton and Vesta Campbell Denton. Mike was a 1966 graduate of Harrisburg High School and went on the graduate from ASU in 1970. He was the former owner of a catfish and seafood restaurant in Memphis, TN from 1985-1992 and prior to that he fish farmed in the Whitehall area. Mike enjoyed pottery, fishing and nature. He was very active in the Sons of the Legion in Harrisburg and was a member of the Whitehall Church of Christ.

He is survived by one brother, Richard "Butch" Denton of Bartlett, TN, one niece and one great niece and two great nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, August 4, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel. Friends will gather just before services from 1:00-2:00 p.m.
