Jonesboro- John Ray Davis, 82, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017 at NEA Baptist Hospital.

He was born August 24, 1934 in Bono to the late J. W. and Gladys Starling Davis. He was the owner and operator of Davis Auto Sales for 40 years. He enjoyed ASU football and basketball, family vacations at the beach and was an avid bowler. He was a member of the Valley View Church of Christ. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and being a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford Davis and Frank Davis; and a sister, Ruth Gibson.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Laura Willene Davis; children and their spouses, Kevin and Lisa Davis of Bono, Robyn and Archie Vest of Germantown, TN and Tiffany and Chris Riggs of Cash; grandchildren, Bailey Harguess (Trey), Erin Davis, Jonathan Vest, Alex Riggs and Rebecca Riggs.

A celebration of his life will be 10:00 am, Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Adcox officiating. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, Friday, July 21, 2017 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jonathan Vest, Archie Vest, Alex Riggs, Chris Riggs, Trey Harguess and David Loggins.
