Lake City-John H. "Barney" Carpenter, 86, died Saturday January 30 at N.E.A. Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. He was born in Lake City to the late Christopher and Hattie Carpenter and was a member of the Lake City United Methodist Church. He retired from the Palo Verde Nuclear Power Plant in Phoenix Arizona.
