Jonesboro- John Ray Brown, 71, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013. He was born June 19, 1941 in Bay to the late William and Lucille Brown. He lived in the Jonesboro/Bay area his whole life and worked at Hytrol until his retirement in 1989. Mr. Brown was a member of the Providence Baptist Church in Trumann. He will be remembered for being a kind and helpful man who loved the simple things in life. Survivors include his five daughters, Karen Russell and Belinda Guthrie both of Brookland, Wilma Hodge of Lake City, Darla Little Vann of Florida and Joyce Preston of Calico Rock; five sons, William Brown of Bono, John David Brown of Brookland, Michael Little of Paragould, Kevin Little of Jonesboro and Kenneth Little; nineteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his faithful companion and pet Titus and a host of family and friends. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Donice Townsend Brown; a sister, Wilma Louise Brown Jones; two brothers, Earl Franklin Brown and Merl Brown. A celebration of his life will be 2:00 pm Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home with Pastors Joe Guthrie and Marty Russell officiating. Interment will follow inTrinity Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from noon am until service time. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Bob Jones, Danny Jones, Jamie Jones, Doug Jones, Michael Little and Blake Richmond and as honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
