Mr. John David Anderson of Harrisburg passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord, Sunday, May 21, 2017, in Jonesboro, at the age of 72.
He was born February 1, 1945 in Milan, Michigan, the son of the late Frank Anderson and Hazel Walters Anderson.
John married Anita Dugan on September 25, 1982 and they enjoyed 35 years together. He wore many hats in life. He was a truck driver, a factory worker, ran a restaurant, a former bartender, owned a lawn service, and many other things. He enjoyed gardening and was a very active member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Harrisburg. He loved his family and his church.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Anita Anderson of the home, six children, Darsie Anderson and Michelle Anderson, both of Kentucky, Andrea Hamilton of Harrisburg, Paula Beals (Dale) of Fisher, Jimmy Anderson (Dee) of Newport, and Diana Garrison of Jonesboro, three sisters, Jane Haase of Corona, CA, Joyce Hearn and Colleen Smith, both of Milan, MI, one brother, Frank Anderson, Jr. of Glendale, AZ, 18 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Memorial services are set for 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the Cornerstone Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Goad officiating. There will be no visitation. Gregg-Weston Funeral Home of Harrisburg is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church to assist with family.
