Joel Earl Grissom, 66, of Pocahontas, passed away on August 7, 2026, in Pocahontas, Arkansas. He was born on November 3, 1959, to Bill Grissom and the late Rema Earlene Ray.

Joel is preceded in death by his mother, Rema Earlene Ray; and his grandparents, Earl and Rema Marie Rose.

He is survived by his son, David, and his wife, Jessica Grissom; Father, Bill Grissom; grandchildren, Hunter Grissom, Haleigh (Brice) Shoe, and Bryar Grissom; siblings Debbie (Norm) Terry, Barbara (David) Graham, and Rema (Mark) Merritt, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joel worked for many years as a carpenter before retiring. He enjoyed a life filled with simple joys and good company. In his spare time, he loved riding horses, fishing, hunting, playing pool and beanbags, spending time at the river, and being with his family and friends. His easygoing nature and love for the outdoors made people love to be around him and spend their time with him.

Joel will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 11:00AM-12:00PM with funeral services to follow at 12:00PM in the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery in Pocahontas, Arkansas.
