Jody Lee Thompson passed Friday, October 20 2023, peacefully at his home at the age of 61.

Jody was born August 20, 1962 to the late James Herbert Thompson and Barbara Coons Thompson in Chicago, Illinois. Jody graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1980. He attended ASU for 2 years and then proudly served in the Navy. He worked at the Jonesboro Sun for many, many years and then he owned and operated his own lawn care business for several years. Jody loved the Lord and it showed in everything he did. He loved to help anyone in need. Jody also loved college football, especially the Arkansas Razorbacks. He played golf for about 25 years and made a lot of friends. Loving life and enjoying it and everything he could.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Staten (Dean) Coats of Harrisburg,AR, his girlfriend, Lisa Monaghan,of Jonesboro, four brother's ,Sam (Joan) Costner of Jonesboro, AR, Nick (Margaret) Costner of Paragould, AR, Cary (Deborah) Costner of Cherry Valley, AR and Jimmie Thompson of Harrisburg, AR. Two sisters', Gayle Martinson of Jonesboro ,AR and Suzanne ( Scott) McMinn of Orange, TX.

Numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28th 2023 at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Farm Hill Cemetery with full military honors. Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday , noon until service time.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Charles Woodson, Barry Griffith, Mike Baker, David McCulley, Jackie DeLoach, Shawn Easley, Lee Van Ausdale and HHS class of 1980.
