Jo Evelyn McClanahan entered into Heaven peacefully on Monday, June 19, 2023.

Born on July 31, 1926 in Black Rock, AR to the late Gertrude Smith Tillotson & William W. Smith.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Doyle McClanahan; brother, Jimmie V. Smith; and sister, Betty Gayle McFaddin.

Jo Evelyn is survived by her children, Ron (Mary Ann) McClanahan of Conway and daughter Frienda G Murphy of Pocahontas.

Grandchildren are Melissa (Chris) Hall of Pocahontas, Ron Murphy of Crossville, TN, Mike (Vicki) Murphy and Mark Murphy, both of Pocahontas, Andrew (Christina) Murphy of Imboden, and Amy (Ryan) Foster of Atlanta, TX.

Great grandchildren are Graydon Carter of Conway, Brooks Carter of Rolla MO, and Harrison Carter of Pocahontas, Katie (Austin) Golliver of Maynard, Joey Murphy and Chelsea (Jackson) Troxel of Jonesboro, Ashton and Adlee Holderbaugh of Atlanta, TX, and Levi, Aiden, Dylan & Baylee Murphy of Imboden.  She dearly loved her Grands and Greats.

Jo Evelyn was primarily a stay-at-home Mom but worked several years at Brown Shoe Company.  She loved working in her many flower beds and gardening.  She also loved sewing stuffed dolls/animals and making clothes for them.

Visitation will be at McNabb Funeral Home on Thursday, June 22, from 9:00 - 10:00 A.M.  A graveside service will follow at 10:00 A.M. at Masonic Cemetery with Nelson Henderson officiating.

All services are under direction of McNabb Funeral Home.
