Obituary
Newport- Jo Ann Grendell, 75, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at St. Bernards Medical Center.
She was born December 26, 1944 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to the late Eugene and Pearl Kik Cook Sr. Jo Ann worked for many years as a carrier for the post office. Her family will remember her as the most beautiful and sweet lady. She enjoyed E.T, playing games and being out in the sun and she loved spending time with her family and her special kitty, Snowball. She never met a stranger.
She was survived by her children, Teri Grendell (Nick Kurtley), Meri Mihm (Ernest) and Philip "Butch" Grendell (Jessica); her sisters, Nancy Fraze (John), Mary Jo Budrow and Sharon Sells and a brother, Jerry Cook Sr.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Philip Grendell Sr.; a brother, Eugene Cook Jr. and a sister, Caroline Martz.
