Jonesboro- Mr. Jimmie S. South, 75, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 20, 2023.

Jimmie was born December 5, 1947 in Harrisburg.  He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force from 1967 until 1970. He was a retired fabricator for several factories in the Jonesboro area over the years. He loved to fish, go camping, barbecuing and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara South; a son, Jimmie M. (Leslie A.) South of Olive Branch, MS; a daughter, Brenda Smith of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Dustin South, Meghan Smith, Kristen Smith, Maddie South and Jase South; three great grandchildren; a brother, Marvin South of Cedar Falls, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Marvin South and Laura Muse South and a brother, James Robert South.

Graveside services will be Friday, June 23, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Nettleton Cemetery under the direction of Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
