Monette- Jimmie Harold Qualls, 85, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022 surrounded by his family at St. Bernards Medical Center.
He was born January 4, 1937 to the late Austin and Effie Rapert Qualls. Jim was happily married to Henrietta Gipson Qualls for 63 years, and was a loving and devoted father to his daughters Kelly Harvey and Kerry Williams. A man of few words, Jim was always the voice of reason for the family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and especially his great-grandchildren. As well as being a life-long cotton famer, he was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed riding on and fixing his tractors. He liked watching NASCAR races, professional wrestling, and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was everything a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a brother should be.
He is survived by his wife, Henrietta Gipson Qualls; daughters, Kelly Harvey of Jonesboro and Kerry Williams of Leachville; grandchildren, Jimmie Harvey of Memphis, TN, Kimberly Harvey of Jonesboro, LeeAnn King (Matt) of Jonesboro, Ashley Long (Josh) of Forrest City, Parker Williams of Jonesboro, and Carson Williams of Jonesboro; great-grandchildren Chandler King, Noah King, and Colton Todd Long; his sister Barbara Sutterfield of Lake City, and his brother Fred Qualls (Pat) of Lake City. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brothers WO Qualls, Bill Qualls, and Glen Qualls.
A celebration of his life will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2022 at Monette First Baptist Church with Reverend Jerry Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Monette Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from one o'clock until time of service Friday at the church.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Gary Qualls, Teddy Qualls, Bret Qualls, Bryan Sutterfield, Mitchell Qualls, Chris Qualls, Vic Qualls, and Michael Qualls. Honored to serve as Honorary pallbearers are Vance Sutterfield, Johnny Sutterfield, Brannon Qualls, and Braden Qualls.
