Obituary

Cherokee Village- Jimmie Frances Burrow Ballinger passed Friday, January 31, 2014. Jimmie was born June 1, 1943 at Harrisburg, but moved to Jonesboro and resided there until 2001, at which time she moved to Cherokee Village. She was united in marriage to Larry W. Ballinger June 5, 1981. She now stands in the loving arms of the Lord, never again to be bound by earthly ties, never again to feel the pains of advancing age, entering the Kingdom of Heaven on January 31, 2014. Being an only child, she was the apple of her father's eye. She graduated from Valley View High School in 1961. She attended Arkansas State University. Jimmie started working at Arkansas State University in 1963 and retired in 2001 as an administrative assistant. She enjoyed doing things for her church, her flowers, and her many wonderful friends. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cherokee Village, the GFWC Quapaw Women's Club, a club that does volunteer work for Cherokee Village and the surrounding area and the CV Photo Club. Survivors include her husband, Larry Ballinger; a son, Rodney Lee Creason of Little Rock and several cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, James I. Burrow in 1990 and grandparents, Clyde and Edna Burrow. A graveside service to celebrate her life will be 11:00 am Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Larry White officiating under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, Monday, February 3, 2014 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home, 300 W. Matthews Ave in Jonesboro. Honored to serve are pallbearers are Gary Henry, Kelly Henry, Gary Eubanks, Larry Bonds, Sam Hill and Robert Roberts and as honorary pallbearers, Kenneth Smith and Faith Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider giving to the Quapaw Women's Club, New Beginnings Pregnancy Center or First Baptist Church of Cherokee Village.
