Obituary

Jesse Lee Crosby, 82, of Monette, passed away November 8, 2015 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. She was born May 22, 1933 to the late Jesse and Gladys Goodwin Crosby in Cardwell, MO. Jesse proudly served her country in the U.S. Marine Corp and is a Korean War Veteran. She lived a very full and feisty life in which she was a singer, opening for Nat King Cole in Las Vegas, and was a make-up artist for the Miss America Pageant. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her free spirit and her colorful way of speaking. Survivors include her daughters, Susan McCutcheon and husband Brian of Troutville, VA, Sally Johnson also of Troutville, VA, an aunt, Francis Smith of Monette, brothers, Jerry Rowton and wife, Jennifer of Vilonia and Gary Rowton of Monette, as well as sever-al grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday. November 13, 2015 in the chapel of Gregg Funeral Home in Monette. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery in Paragould. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from six until eight o'clock pm. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Josh Rowton, Cody McEntire, Zac Parker, Danny Lewis, Bruce Rylant and James Tilly.
