Obituary

Jess L. Carr, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, fought the good fight and completed his journey on April 20, 2011. He was 83. Mr. Carr was born in 1927 in Conway County to Jess L. Carr and Virginia Boyer Carr. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sarah Carr, and his six children: Garry Carr of Conway County; Doug Gray of Salem, Oregon; David Gray of Albany, Oregon; Linda Mendell of San Francisco, California; Connie Terrafranca of Vienna, Virginia; and Debby Carr of Little Rock, Arkansas. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Flo \u0026 Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War from 1953-1955. Mr. Carr was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Pocahontas. A graveside service will be held at 2:00, on Saturday, April, 23, 2011 at the Randolph County Memorial Gardens. The McNabb funeral home is charge of arrangements. The Reverend Roger Shields will officiate. There will be a second visitation from 10-12 prior to service on Saturday also at McNabb's. Visitation will be held Friday from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
