Jonesboro- Jerry C. Yielding, 84, our father, grandfather and friend entered into heaven at 9:10 am March 17, 2017.
He was born January 10, 1933 in Jonesboro to the late Herbert Yielding and Trecie Caldwell. A star athlete in Jonesboro at Annie Camp Jr. High and Jonesboro High School. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. We truly can\u0027t remember ever seeing anyone who didn\u0027t love and admire our Dad. He was a great coach to many young men in the Jonesboro Little League, Babe Ruth and Legion programs and always a friend. Preceded in death by his wife, our loving Mom, Virginia Baker Yielding. We will continue to feel his presence and the blessings of being loved and raised by such caring folks.
He is survived by his sons and their wives, Jerry and Jackie Yielding Jr of Higdon and Butch and Janie Yielding of Jonesboro; two grandsons, Dillon Yielding of Fayetteville and Josh Yielding (Chaun) of Jonesboro; three great-grandchildren, Logan Fields, Blake Pulley and Taylor Pulley; four step-great-grandchildren, Lindsey Simpson, Parker Fields, Elijah Simpson and Hannah Simpson and all of his friends at Southwinds Heights and St. Bernards Village and many other lifelong friends.
A memorial visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel.
