Monette- Jerry Lynn Tipton, 85, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2023 at NEA Baptist Hospital.

He was born July 19, 1938 in Monette to the late Clayborn and Macey Finch Tipton. As a child, he was the popcorn popper for his dad at the Tipton Theater in Monette. Jerry served his country proudly in the United States Navy as a medic for over twenty years. During that time he served in Vietnam, Italy, Japan and Cuba. Jerry was a member of the Monette First Baptist Church.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie Tipton and Stanley Tipton and his faithful buddy, Peppy.

He is survived by two nephews and several cousins and a host of friends.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette with Rev. Jerry Reed officiating. Burial will be private in the Monette Memorial Cemetery.
