Jerry D. Taylor of Monette, Arkansas, departed this life Friday, June 7, 2013 at his home at the age of 61. He was born December 2, 1951, in Paragould, AR, the son of C.A. Taylor and Betty Jean Wright Taylor. Jerry was a factory worker for Monroe and enjoyed the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a Vietnam veteran having served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was an avid Cardinal and Razorback fan and a member of the Cockrum Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his father, C.A. Taylor and a sister Linda Jean Taylor. He is survived by his wife, Karon Bowers Taylor of the home, a daughter, Melissa Cole and her husband Chris of Manila, a son, Chris Taylor of Leachville, his mother, Betty Jean Taylor of Leachville, a brother, Eddie Eugene Taylor and his wife Janie of Leachville, a sister, Regina Welch and her husband Robin of Leachville, and three grandchildren, Madison Bibbs, Caitlin Cole and Dalton Taylor. Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Gregg Funeral Home in Monette with Weldon Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Macy Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette. Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday evening, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
