Jerry Jr. Sneed, 78, of Heber Springs/Quitman, passed away peacefully to his heavenly home on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Unity Health Advanced Care Hospital in Searcy with his family by his side.

He was born on April 3, 1944, in Caraway, to Jake and Ruth Haney Sneed. Jerry worked at American Greetings in Osceola, was a farmer, and later owned J&N Cove Creek Grocery for 23 years on Greers Ferry Lake. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in MS and AR and spending time with his family. Water skiing on Norfork Lake and four-wheeler riding were his passion in his younger years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Ruth Sneed; and a brother, Bill Sneed.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Nancy Jones Sneed of the home; son, Keith Sneed (Spring) of Caraway; daughter, Nikki Hooker (Heath) of Jonesboro; brother, Talmadge "Tab" (Martha) Gates of Heber Springs; sister-in-law, Susan Brakefield of West Monroe, LA; granddaughters, Jacey Sneed, Sydney Wildy, and Kathryn Wildy; 3 great grandsons and a host of extended family and friends he met over the years.

Graveside funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Caraway Cemetery in Caraway with Mr. David Inman officiating. Visitation will be at 1:30 PM at the cemetery.

Burial will be in Caraway Cemetery under direction of Gregg Fuenral Home of Monette, Arkansas.
