Pocahontas- Jerry McDon Prater, 72, entered into eternal peace on May 19, 2014. Jerry was born August 3, 1941 in Clear Lake, AR to the late Burl Jr. and Virginia Decker Prater. He is survived by his loving wife Joyce Prater of the home, son Donald (Sheila) Prater of Hardy, daughter Beverly (Tommy) Gray of Pocahontas, adopted son Bennie Johnson of Pocahontas, grandchildren Shaunda (Eddie) Goodman of Washington State, Tyler and Justin Broadway of Pocahontas, great grandchildren Isaac, Peyton, Madison and Jaxon Goodman of Washington State, sisters Carol Robins of Powhaten, Debbie Workman of Portia, brother Rick Prater of Walnut Ridge, sister-in-law Earnestine Lenderman of KY, several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law Violet Reeves, father-in-law Kid Reeves, brother-in-law's Ricky Reeves and Carl Reeves. Jerry was a very loving father and his greatest enjoyment was tractors, racing and spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by many. Services will be held in McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be Friday, May 23, 2014 from 1:00-2:00 P.M. with funeral service at 2:00 P.M. with Bill Gray and Jerry Cochran officiating.
