Jonesboro- Jerry Dale "JD" Mays, 59, passed away Monday, February 17, 2020 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.
He was born November 3, 1960 in Millington, TN to Jerry Don and Jean Spencer Mays. JD was a foreman with Stonebridge Construction Company. He loved to deer hunt, watch NASCAR, fish and go to the lake.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Tammy Pierce Mays; his parents, Jerry and Jean Mays; daughters, Jessica Richmond (Dalton) and Jenna Mays; a brother, Terry Mays (Debbie); a sister, Pat Dennis (Galen); an aunt, Fran Tounsand (Gene); mother-in-law, Ann Pierce; nephews, Clayton Mays, Joshua Dennis (Amy), Travis Mays (Jordan), Dustin Nichols, Nathan Dennis and Jensen James; nieces, Nichole Dennis, Natalie Dennis and Ashton Nichols (Michael); sister-in-law, Crystal Nichols (Bryan).
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lex and Nellie Mays and Arthur and Louise Spencer; nephew, Jacob Dennis and father-in-law, George Pierce.
A graveside service will be 10:00 am Saturday, February 22, 2020 at McDaniel Cemetery with Mitch Ford officiating. Interment will follow.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday, February 21, 2020 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Dalton Richmond, Clayton Mays, Joshua Dennis, Travis Mays, Dustin Nichols, Glenn Tacker and Joe Tarantino.
