Jean Elizabeth Martin Olvey was born June 30, 1920. To Lantie R and Ona Sallee Martin in Pocahontas, AR. She married C.E. Olvey, Jr on June 14, 1941, and they raised three children together. She departed this life on June 20, 2015, just ten day short of her 95th birthday. Jean was preceded in death by her father, Lantie R. Martin, her mother, Ona Sallee Martin, husband, C.E. Olvey, Jr., daughter-in-law, Karen Scott Olvey, and great-grandson, Trystan St, Andre. She is survived by sons, Richard (Dick) Olvey and Robert (Bob) and wife Netia Olvey both of Pocahontas; daughter, Dana Olvey of Sherwood, grandchildren, Lance (Heather) Olvey, Brandon (Enid) Olvey, Jennifer Olvey, Rob Olvey, Clint White, and Carrie White. Five great grandchildren also survive: Max, Marty, and Samantha Olvey, Alexa Dempsey and Zoe St. Andre. She is also survived by many, many friends, including 3 special caregivers in her life: Judy Brandon, Jan Shirley, and Debbie Turner. Jean was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of PEO Chapter AR and alifetime member of Pocahontas First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital P.O. Box 2222 Little Rock, AR 72203, Randolph County Humane Society P.O. Box 364 Pocahontas, AR 72455 or a charity of the donor's choosing in memory of Jean Olvey. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 23, 2015 from 12-2 p.m. at McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. Immediately following a graveside service celebrating her life will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Randolph Memorial Garden Cemetery with Ray Snodgrass officiating. Burial will be at Randolph Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
