Jonesboro- Jean Mays, 78, passed away Friday, September 18, 2020 at Flo \u0026 Phil Jones Hospice House.
She was born July 21, 1942 in Bono to the late Arthur and Louise Cox Spencer. She worked at Sears Optical Lab for many years. Jean enjoyed camping, boating and spending time with her family. She was an active member of Forrest Home Church of Nazarene. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Jerry Mays; her children and their spouses, Terry and Debbie Mays and Pat and Galen Dennis all of Jonesboro; daughter-in-law, Tammy Mays of Jonesboro; a sister, Mary Tounsand (Gene) of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Clayton Mays, Joshua Dennis (Amy), Travis Mays (Jordan), Jessica Richmond (Dalton), Nichole Dennis, Jenna Mays and Natalie Dennis; a great-grandson, Nathan Dennis.
She was also preceded in death by a son, J.D. Mays; a grandson, Jacob Dennis and her mother and father-in-law, Nellie Mays and Lex Mays.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 pm Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
A celebration of her life will be 10:00 am Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Stallings and Rev. Galen Dennis officiating. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Clayton Mays, Joshua Dennis, Travis Mays, Dalton Richmond, Mike Boling and Terry Mays.
