Horseshoe Bend- Jarrel David Mahan, 83, formerly of Caraway, departed this life Thursday, July 28, 2022, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville.
He was born May 8, 1939 in Griffithville, the son of the late Arthur Lee Mahan and Jewel Elizabeth Brancecum. Jarrel graduated from Caraway High School and married Faye Manis and they enjoyed 64 years together. He worked for McDonell Douglas Aircraft for over 40 years and enjoyed woodworking, fishing, crossword puzzles and suduko. He was a deacon for many years and also served a short time as an elder in the church.
He was also preceded in death by three siblings, Joyce Frazey, Velma Kelly and Bertha Frazey.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Faye Mahan of the home, a daughter, Steff Mahan (Beth Wilson) of Nashville, TN, two sons, Scott Mahan (Tracy) of Redford, MO and Steven Mahan (Carrie Anne) of Mt. Olive, IL, one sister, Jean Reeves of Caraway, six grandchildren, Devin Mahan, Taylor Mahan, Seth Mahan, Joseph Mahan and Samuel Mahan, three great grandchildren, Realyn Calvert Mahan, Dean Mahan and Emma Alfaro, and several, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette, with Mr. Mike Yates and Mr. David Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Caraway Cemetery.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday, 1:00-2:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and John Harlan.
