Jonesboro- Janis Edwards Francis, 72, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at her home.

She was born March 15, 1944 in Piggott to the late Cecil and Anna Laurene Edwards. Mrs. Francis was a member of the Southwest Church of Christ. She had a BSE in Elementary Education and had taught twenty-nine years in the NE Arkansas area concluding her career spending many years at Brookland Schools.

She is survived by her son and his wife, Taylor and Cindy Francis of Como, Mississippi; a sister and her husband, Joy and Larry Rainwater of Lynn; a brother and his wife, Lewis and Judy Edwards of Schulenburg, Texas; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She is also preceded in death by her husband, Taylor Francis Sr. and two grandchildren.

A graveside service to celebrate her life will be 11:00 am, Saturday, February 4th, 2017 at Nettleton Cemetery with Dr. Jimmy Adcock officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are David Loggains, Tommy Campbell, Josh Hoskins, Kaylon Campbell, Aaron Francis and Larry Rainwater.

Lasting memorials may be given to Southwest Church of Christ or the Paragould Children Home.
