Obituary

Janet Lynn Barnett, 65, of Maynard passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024 at her home.

Janet was born March 16, 1959 in Pocahontas to the late Jack and Maxine McCook Thompson.  She worked as a teacher and later owned and operated the Hillbilly Junction Café in Maynard.  She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church at Pitman.  Janet lived each day of life trying to help others.  She took great comfort in the words of Ecclesiastes 3, to everything there is a season.  A time to laugh and a time to mourn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Maxine Thompson; and her daughter, Amanda Lynn Barnett.

Janet is survived by her husband, Ronald Barnett; brother, James (Renee) Thompson; sisters, Jackie Lincoln and Joyce Radcliff; and many other relatives and friends.

All services will be held in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Monday, November 18, 2024 from 5-7 PM.  Funeral Service will be Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 2 PM with Rick Hassell officiating.  Burial will follow in Maynard Cemetery.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Mason, Matt, Isaac, Noah, Hunter, Derek, and Chester.

Honorary Pallbearers will be James Thompson, Ronald Barnett, Steve Berry, and Aubrey Jones.
