Mrs. Jane Elizabeth Hamm Hays, 89, of Jonesboro, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband, John Hays, and son, Michael Hays.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Hays Taylor, and two granddaughters, Brea Hays Frantz (Paul) and Angela Hays Jones (Curtis), and two great-grandchildren, Riley Grace Jones and Paul David Frantz, Jr.

Jane attended Jonesboro High School where she proudly represented the Hurricanes as a majorette. She had a 39-year career with Arkansas State University where she enjoyed working with the students and was always relatable to younger generations. As an avid sports fan, she loved watching the Olympics and other sporting events, but most loved watching Red Wolf football as a season ticket holder.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she enjoyed attending and volunteering with the Church and in the community.

She enjoyed crocheting, crafting, cooking, decorating, shopping, and most of all loved spending time with her family. She was dearly loved and will be missed.

The graveside service will be held at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery at 1 o'clock PM on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
