Walnut Ridge - James Luther Williams, 86, of Walnut Ridge passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at his home.
He was born, December 3, 1932 in Richwoods to the late Elmer Lee and Tula Weatherford Williams. He was a farmer, car salesman, and Air Force veteran.
James was a faithful husband to his loving wife, Peggy Ann Browning Williams, for 62 years. They loved their church family at Walnut Ridge First Free Will Baptist Church where they have been members for 37 years. He was a wonderful, godly Dad to his children and a great Papa to his grandchildren. He was known for his kindness and generosity. He loved his Lord, his family, his friends, and his church.
James was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Lela Ann Williams; and three brothers, Warren Williams, Bob Williams, and Duff Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Ann Williams; two sons, Steven (Susan) Williams of Osceola, and Bill (Rose Mary) Williams of Floral; two grandchildren, Jarod (Kristen) Williams of Conway, and Tara (Charles) McDaniel of Conway; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Lorine Baker of Walnut Ridge, and several special nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 11 AM-1 PM at Walnut Ridge First Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 1 PM with Tim Campbell and Terry Forrest officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery under direction of McNabb Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include: Bobby Lee Williams, Jeff Williams, Warren Williams, Gary Little, Terry Spradlin, and Duffie Williams.
Honorary Pallbearers include: Ronnie "Frog" Light, Brooks Crossno, Roger Teel, Mitch Little, Gilbert Phillips, Don Alls, and Joe Romine.
