James Edward White of Harrisburg, 90, passed away on November 6, 2025 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis surrounded by his family.

He was born April 20, 1935 in Greenfield Township and helped his family clear land on Crowley's Ridge as a young man and continued to live in the same area his entire life where he attended the small school of Central in his township. After a stent in the Navy, James returned to his home area to continue the family farm. He married Catheryn Lynn in 1959, and together they shared a marriage that lasted 66 years. They had a daughter, Cynthia Ann, and a son Edward Neil.

Survivors include his wife, Catheryn White, daughter, Cynthia Ratliff, son, Neil White, grandchildren; Shanneil White, Logan Ratliff, and Gavin Ratliff (Katie); and greatgrandchildren London White, Lily Ratliff, Laila Ratliff and Wyatt Ratliff.

Visitation to celebrate his life will be Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 12-2 pm at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel, with a funeral service to follow with Rev. Larry Gibson officiating. Burial will take place in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Logan Ratliff, Gavin Ratliff, Jon Dorsey, Caleb Griffith, Lynn Gray, and Bobby Parsley.
