Obituary

Maynard - James Carroll Venable, 72, passed away on June 13, 2019 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

James was born on October 7, 1946 in Maynard, AR to James Gordus and Olga Marie Venable. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He attended Brakebill Church of Christ. As a founding member of the Maynard Saddle Club, he served as President as well as a Board Member for many years and received multiple awards throughout his years of competition.

He was preceded in death by his parents; special aunt, Doris (Spencer) Jackson; and and special uncle, Chloe Jackson.

His is survived by 3 daughters, Cara Nelson of Maynard, Sara (Wesley) Smith of Ravenden Springs and Katie (Kyle) Radcliff of Pocahontas; longtime friend and former wife, Connie Ann (Samons) Venable of Ravenden Springs; grandchildren, Weston Nelson of Maynard, Brayden Radcliff of Biggers, and Connor, Colt, and Casyn Radcliff of Pocahontas; special cousins, Jim Bob Jackson of Maynard, Barbara (Marty) Hueter of Warm Springs, Ronny Jackson of Heber Springs, Diane (Gary) Hagood of Maynard, Kathy (Keith) Wells of Rogers, Debbie (Martin) Cates of Maynard; and many other family members and friends.

All services will be held at McNabb Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Sunday, June 16, 2019. A funeral service will be Monday, June 17, 2019 at 10 am with Gary Buxton officiating. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery.

Pallbearers include: Marden Hueter II, Chad Koons, Spencer Cates, Victor Rapert, Corey Brown, and Randy Barber.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Bob Jackson, Ronny Jackson, Gary Hagood, Butch Woolard, and Bill Judkins.
